Salary / Pay Scale

The Scientific/Technical Assistant-A post carries Pay Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, with a pay scale of Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400. This is a Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted Scientific & Technical post, and the same pay scale applies uniformly across all three disciplines. Selected candidates will also be entitled to other allowances as admissible under Central Government and NIC rules.

Selection Process

There is no written examination or interview in this recruitment. Selection is based entirely on GATE score merit, followed by document verification, in the following order:

  1. Applications are screened for eligibility as per the qualification, age and category criteria; only eligible, registered candidates proceed further.
  2. A separate discipline-wise and category-wise merit list is prepared based on the candidate’s valid GATE score, with equal weightage given to GATE 2024, 2025 and 2026 scores.
  3. In case of a tie, preference is given first to the candidate with the older GATE year, then to the older candidate by age, and finally to the candidate with a higher percentage in the essential qualification.
  4. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification; the authorisation/call letter must be downloaded from the NIC recruitment website.
  5. Candidates who successfully clear document verification are offered a provisional appointment.

Document verification will be conducted in Delhi, or at another location or mode approved by the competent authority.
