NHB Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Applicants must be Indian citizens. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who arrived before 1 January 1962, and persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of settling in India are also eligible, provided they hold a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Points to Note

  • All degrees must be from universities or institutions recognised by the Government of India or approved regulatory bodies.
  • Enter graduation percentage to two decimals; CGPA must be converted to percentage, and a conversion certificate may be asked for at interview.
  • Experience gained through outsourcing vendors, KPO/BPO firms or IT support service providers will not be counted.
  • Experience certificates must state the specific field of work that the post requires.
  • Candidates with unresolved loan or credit-card defaults, or adverse CIBIL records that are not regularised before the offer, will not be eligible for appointment.

NHB Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

  1. Online screening: Applications are scrutinised against the eligibility criteria and the shortlisting parameters decided by the Bank.
  2. Group Discussion (if required): When many eligible applications are received, NHB may hold a preliminary screening followed by a group discussion.
  3. Interview: The interview is the deciding stage. Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks to enter the rank list.
  4. Merit list: The final list is prepared category-wise in descending order of interview marks. If candidates tie at the cut-off, the older candidate ranks higher.
  5. Verification and medical: Original documents are verified, and appointment is subject to medical fitness, police and employer verification, and a satisfactory character report.

Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee an interview call; the Bank decides how many candidates to shortlist, and its decision is final.

Smart Tips Before You Apply
  • Match your experience to the exact wording. The notification fixes both the number of years and the type of work; a general finance or HR background is not enough for these posts.
  • Confirm your current grade. For the AGM (Accounts) post, your present position must correspond to Scale IV, Grade C or E-4; private-sector candidates are assessed on position and CTC.
  • Apply once only. In case of multiple applications, only the latest completed one is retained and the other fees are forfeited.
  • Check your name spelling against your certificates and ID; any mismatch can lead to disqualification.
  • Keep the printout and e-receipt safe, since they are needed at the interview.
  • Ignore agents and canvassing. Any attempt to influence selection leads to disqualification, and NHB is not responsible for applications made by unauthorised persons.
  • Travel reimbursement: eligible outstation candidates called for interview receive Third AC rail fare or bus fare by the shortest route, whichever is lower, on producing travel proof.
