IBPS SO Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

  2. Online Main Examination — Objective paper plus a Descriptive Paper based on the relevant post/domain.
  3. Common Interview — Conducted for candidates shortlisted through the Main Examination.

The final merit list is prepared based on the marks scored in the Main Examination and Interview, normally taken together in an 80:20 ratio. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview are 40% for General category and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates, out of a total of 100 marks.

The Main Examination consists of 150 objective questions carrying 200 marks, along with a Descriptive Paper of 25 marks (English Language — Letter Writing & Essay), taking the total to 225 marks within a duration of 155 minutes.
