DA, HRA, CCA and other allowances will be paid as per Bank rules in force from time to time. Specialist Officers recruited laterally in MMGS-II and MMGS-III are also eligible, during probation itself, for facilities such as conveyance expenses, newspaper cost, telephone/mobile expenses, residential furniture and Bank-owned or leased accommodation, as per the eligibility of their respective scale.

Service Indemnity Bond

Selected candidates must execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond to serve a minimum of 3 years: ₹2,00,000/- for JMGS-I posts and ₹2,50,000/- for MMGS-II and MMGS-III posts.

Selection Process of IOB Generalist/SO Recruitment 2026

Selection will be made through an Online Examination followed by a Personal Interview, Document Verification and Medical Examination. Merely satisfying the eligibility criteria does not entitle a candidate to be called for the Online Examination or Interview; the Bank may resort to preliminary screening/shortlisting based on qualification, experience and profile against job requirements.

For the Generalist Officer (Branch Management) post — total 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours:

There is no minimum qualifying mark for the English Language and General Awareness sections. Candidates must, however, secure minimum qualifying marks in the Professional Knowledge section — 35% for unreserved candidates and 30% for reserved candidates. A penalty of 1/4th mark is deducted for each wrong answer; unattempted questions carry no penalty.

Interview

Candidates qualifying the Online Examination will be called for a Personal Interview carrying a maximum of 100 marks, assessed on role-related exposure, subject knowledge and communication skills. Minimum qualifying marks in the interview are 50% for unreserved and 45% for reserved candidates. The final merit list is prepared by giving 80% weightage to the Online Examination and 20% weightage to the Interview.
