Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has released the POWERGRID Apprentices Recruitment 2026 notification for engagement of apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the training year 2026-27. Ten of the company’s regional establishments have so far issued detailed advertisements, together offering 270 apprenticeship training slots for ITI-Electrician, Diploma (Electrical/Civil) and Graduate (Electrical/Civil) candidates. Online applications open on 25 August 2026 and close on 10 September 2026. Candidates who are at least 18 years old and hold a full-time, regular ITI, Diploma or Engineering qualification in the notified trades, obtained within the last two years, can apply through the official POWERGRID website.

Experience Requirement
No prior work experience is required. In fact, candidates with more than one year of job experience, or those who have already undergone or are currently undergoing an apprenticeship in any organisation, are not eligible.

Application Fee
There is no application fee for POWERGRID Apprentices Recruitment 2026 in any of the 10 regions, for any category of candidate. Since the selection process has no written examination or interview, no examination fee applies either.

Candidates must have completed 18 years of age at the time of application. No maximum age limit is specified in the notification.
Qualification Detail
